Oxebridge Quality Resources is an independent consulting company... that means we have no formal relationship with any CMS accrediting body.
That means we don't work for ACHC or JCAHO or CHAP or anyone. Instead, we work for you.
The risks of hiring a consulting firm dependent on an accrediting body are significant:
- Dependent consultants can mandate ridiculous, unnecessary changes to your company, and enforce them through the accrediting body's auditors.
- Dependent consultants can demand you spend more money on consulting services or training seminars, threatening you with audit failure if you do not succumb.
- Dependent consultants are inflexible, refusing to allow you to customize your system, documents or forms.
- Dependent consultants may have unethical financial relationships with the accrediting body, in the form of kickbacks, referral bonuses or hidden fees.
- At some point in the future, Medicare and Medicaid -- through CMS -- will recognize that an "Enron-like" scandal is in the making, and make collusion between consultants and accreditors illegal. This will put at risk any company who hired the dependent consultant.
Oxebridge has elected to work solely with ACHC standards, but this does not mean we are beholden to ACHC or its interpretations. Oxebridge has made it clear to ACHC surveyors and staff that we will only represent our clients, and sometimes that may mean educating ACHC surveyors on different user-focused interpretations, and expecting them to support that view. Oxebridge will never, ever, have any financial relationship with ACHC.
